What is a lifestyle or room-set image?

Lifestyle or room-set images show products in situ or in beautifully styled rooms, for example a bath in a bathroom or sofa in a living room. These images are popular for decorating features and news pages.

What is a cut-out or product image?

Cut outs or product images show the whole product on a white background. The product can be shown either front-on or at a slight angle and these types of images are typically used for features such as ‘Get the Look’, ’10 of the best’ or similar product-focussed pages.

What do you need from us?

All we ask of our clients is that they keep us informed of their news and developments and most importantly provide us with professional photography as regularly as possible. Good quality professional images are vital in securing editorial coverage and we can help with contacts, styling and advice in this area if required. A mixture of cut-out and lifestyle photographs is preferred in order to help us to secure as much coverage as possible.  It is also important that you inform us of any ranges or products that are discontinued so that we can remove these from our Picture Bank to ensure they don’t appear in future features.

How do you promote our products?

All of our clients are assigned a dedicated Account Manager who will continually promote their products in order to gain editorial coverage in magazines, newspapers, blogs and web articles.  This is achieved using a variety of tailored methods which all integrate to complement each other.  This includes; daily contact with journalists proactively pitching your products, bi-monthly Press Releases, responding to editorial alert services, inclusion on our online Picture Bank and regular mentions in our stylish monthly newsletter.  The full process of how we promote your products can be read further here.

Is there a minimum contract term?

Our contract is for a minimum of 9 months due to the fact that many of the national home interest editorial teams work at least 3 months in advance. As it is unlikely you would see much coverage in the national lifestyle/interior magazines in the first 3 month period, this time frame allows us 6 months to show you the level of results we can achieve for your company. Please note, we would expect to gain coverage in weekly magazines, newspapers, regional press and online media in the first 3 month period, as these work to much shorter lead times.

Can I choose which media I would like to appear in?

As we focus on the home, interiors and lifestyle sector, we work across a wide spectrum of media including magazines, newspapers, websites and blogs. Relevant national, regional, monthly and weekly publications are all included within our specialist database to ensure we gain the maximum amount of coverage for our clients.  Although clients are not able to choose specific titles, we only actively target those we see as relevant to our clients target audience. During planning meetings, clients can also make us aware of any titles they see as particularly important and we will spend extra time focusing on these.

How long will it be until I start seeing results?

The lead times of publications vary greatly; some magazines work as far ahead as 5-6 months, while newspapers and bloggers for example, often work just days in advance of publication. Therefore, it is unlikely you would see many press cuttings from the National lifestyle/interior magazines in the first 3 month period but we would expect to obtain coverage in regional, online or newspaper features.  After this initial period we would expect to achieve national press coverage each month.
